Terms and Conditions

Treating all of our Clients Equally and Professionally

These terms and conditions are designed to clearly explain how we work with our clients, what you can expect from us, and what helps projects run smoothly when you choose us as your builder in Cirencester or builder in Swindon. Our aim is always to deliver quality building services with fairness, transparency, and great communication.



1. Our Commitment To You


We will:


Carry out all works with reasonable skill, care, and in accordance with accepted good building practice.

Use suitably experienced tradespeople and appropriate materials suited to the type of work being undertaken, whether it’s a home extension or a garden room.

Maintain clear and open communication throughout your project.

Take reasonable steps to keep disruption to a minimum.

Keep the site safe and tidy as far as reasonably possible.

Dispose of waste responsibly and in line with regulations.

Treat your property with respect at all times.

Aim to deliver the best possible outcome for your project.



2. Scope Of Works


All works will be carried out as agreed within your Quotation, Specification, or Building Works Contract. This will outline what is included and any agreed exclusions. Should you wish to change or add to the scope, these changes will be discussed and confirmed before work proceeds.



3. Variations And Changes


If you request changes to the agreed works, we will explain any impact on cost and timescale and confirm this in writing before proceeding. This ensures clarity and avoids unexpected outcomes for either party.



4. Programme And Timescales


Any timescales provided are estimates based on current information and normal working conditions. While we aim to complete works within the agreed timeframe, delays can occasionally occur due to factors outside our control, such as weather, supply issues, or unforeseen site conditions. If this happens, you will be kept informed throughout.



5. Access And Site Conditions


Clients are asked to provide safe and clear access to the property during agreed working hours. Any restrictions that prevent works from progressing may impact our ability to complete the work for you at the agreed terms.



6. Client Supplied Items


Where items are supplied by the client, AVID Developments South West Ltd cannot be responsible for their performance, suitability, or any delays relating to their supply or condition.



7. Payments


Payment terms will be clearly outlined within your Building Works Contract or Quotation, including a 35% deposit requirement prior to commencement of works. All invoices are payable in accordance with the agreed schedule. For all works lasting longer than 14 days, interim payments will be required at each 14-day interval. Materials and works in progress remain the property of AVID Developments South West Ltd until full payment has been received.



8. Unforeseen Conditions


Our pricing is based on reasonably known factors at the time of quotation and normal ground or site conditions. If unforeseen issues arise, such as underground services, structural defects, or unstable ground, we will discuss the situation with you and agree on any necessary next steps before proceeding.



9. Pre Existing Defects


We are not responsible for defects or issues caused by pre-existing structural conditions or hidden problems that could not reasonably have been identified prior to works starting.



10. Health And Safety


We comply with all relevant health and safety legislation and work to maintain a safe environment for our team, clients, and members of the public.



11. Suspension Of Works


We reserve the right to temporarily pause works if payments become overdue or if site conditions are unsafe or unsuitable. In such cases, we will always aim to resolve issues promptly and professionally.



12. Photographs And Records


We may take photographs and videos during the project for record keeping, marketing, and quality assurance purposes.



13. Pre Commencement Conditions


A commencement date can only be secured upon receipt of:


Your signed agreement.

The commencement deposit of 35%.

Proof of address.

Proof of available funds.
